Crown & Rose is a full-stack indie-fiction studio: writers use The Loom to draft, edit, translate, and publish novels with AI assistance, and readers browse those novels in The Vault bookstore. Everything — writing, cover design, marketing, translation, direct sales — lives under one roof, on your terms.
Who is Crown & Rose for?
Indie novelists who want to keep more of the revenue their books earn, control their own release calendars, and reach readers in more languages than a traditional publisher would ever underwrite. Writers who publish in genre fiction (romance, thriller, cozy mystery, YA, speculative) see the strongest fit.
Do I own the copyright to work I write here?
Yes — you retain full copyright. Crown & Rose is a tool, not a publisher. We provide an Editing Record on every project (downloadable CSV) that documents exactly which portions of your manuscript are AI-assisted vs. human-edited, aligned with U.S. Copyright Office, UK IPO, and EU AI Act disclosure standards. That record travels with you if you register the work.
How is AI assistance handled for copyright?
Every AI generation, suggestion accept, suggestion reject, translation, and human edit is logged to your project's Editing Record with timestamp, model name, prompt summary, and token count. When you register your copyright, you can attach the exported CSV as evidence of human creative direction and portion-of-authorship — the current global standard for AI-assisted works.
Which languages can I write in?
30+ writing languages via Claude, Gemini, and OpenAI, including regional variants: Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese (Hong Kong, Taiwan), Spanish (Castilian, Mexican, Argentine), Portuguese (European, Brazilian), Arabic (MSA, Egyptian, Saudi), and more. Combine with a Regional Voice preset on any character for register + dialect + cultural taboo awareness.
How do I get paid for books I sell?
Direct payouts via Stripe Connect. When a reader buys your book, Stripe splits the sale between the platform fee and your connected account in real time — funds land in your bank without invoicing or waiting for month-end statements.
What is the Craft Multiplier?
A pipeline that helps creatives turn a single premise into multiple bookstore-ready assets: a novel, a shorter novella tie-in, cover concepts, blurb variants, and translated editions. It lives under the AI Offerings section of the bookstore for authors who want to publish more per idea.
How much does it cost?
Tiered subscription — Free (draft-only, watermark), Craft ($19/mo, one novel + one translation), Studio ($49/mo, unlimited novels + translations + direct bookstore), and Premier ($199/mo, human-services human editing + KDP bundle export + priority translation). Token packs top up any tier.
Can I export my work to Amazon KDP?
Yes — one-click KDP Bundle export produces a print-ready Adobe PDF interior at any KDP trim size, plus a Canva cover PDF, plus metadata JSON. Upload the three files to KDP and you're published in under 30 minutes.
What if my book is only available in English but readers want it in Portuguese?
Readers can wishlist your title in their preferred language. When enough demand builds, you (or Crown & Rose's translation team on higher tiers) commission a translation — automatic email brief + CSV to your routing vendors. Wishlisted readers get notified the moment the translated edition lands.
Is there an API for reader / companion apps?
Yes — the Companion App v1 API (client-credentials → JWT) exposes catalog, ownership, purchases, secure download tokens, offers, and webhooks (book.published, price.changed, offer.created, author.posted). Contact your account manager for client credentials.
Where does Crown & Rose live?
The Loom writing suite at www.crownnrose.com; The Vault bookstore at the same domain under /bookstore. Both are the same account — one sign-in covers writing and reading.
What is OHAS?
OHAS (Open Human Authorship Standards) is an open specification that lets a publisher cryptographically prove a book was written by humans, with any AI touchpoints disclosed line-by-line. Crown & Rose certifies every published title at assurance level D0–D4 (self-declaration → real-time monitoring). Every certified book carries a signed JSON manifest, an SVG badge, and a QR code that verifiers can scan to check the chain of evidence. Our default assurance level is D3 (formal audit trail) aligned with U.S. Copyright Office human-authorship requirements for AI-assisted literary works.
How do I verify a book?
Every certified book on The Vault carries an OHAS chip on the storefront card and a QR code inside the book detail view. Scan the QR (or open /api/ohas/{book_id}/manifest.json in your browser) to fetch the signed JSON manifest. The manifest lists the assurance level, chapter content hashes, revision spans, editor sign-off, and Copyscape status. Compare the SHA-256 in the manifest against a fresh hash of the manuscript to prove no tampering has occurred since certification.
